The Israel Securities Authority has announced the appointment of Adv. Sarah Kandler as its new Director General following an internal tender process. Kandler currently serves as head of the ISA's inspection and enforcement department, replacing Adv. Oded Shapiro, who announced last month that he would step down in December after 25 years at the agency and seven years as Director General.

Kandler has been with the Israel Securities Authority since 2001, holding numerous key positions throughout her tenure. Among other roles, she previously managed the corporate department, served as deputy legal advisor, headed the legislation unit, and acted as a senior advisor to the ISA chair.

ISA Chairman Ofi Singer stated: "I welcome Sarah's appointment as Director General. Sarah brings rich experience, deep familiarity with the agency and the capital market, and a proven track record of successfully managing two core departments. I have no doubt she will lead the authority forward."
