Sandra Bullock (62) is beginning to return to public life after years in which she almost disappeared from the radar following the death of her partner of eight years, Bryan Randall, from ALS. Sources close to the actress, as reported by the Daily Mail, say that only now, three years after Randall's death at the age of 57, she feels she is able to talk about him in public.
She is finally in a better place, which is why she filmed 'Practical Magic 2', a source close to the star told the tabloid. She felt it was time to talk about Bryan, noting that it feels right now. It does not bother her to open up about him because she wants to honor him in the best way, with sweet memories, the source added.
Recently, Bullock was a guest in a candid conversation on the SmartLess podcast, hosted by her good friend Jason Bateman alongside Will Arnett and Sean Hayes. There, she shared that Randall explicitly asked her to keep his medical diagnosis a secret, and therefore she was not allowed to talk about it. Bullock respected his wish but admitted that she had to carry the heavy weight alone, which isolated her completely, especially in the shadow of the coronavirus.
"I started grieving Bryan four years before he died. My person left long before his body left," admitted Bullock.
She added that while she is experienced in caring for the sick, having accompanied her parents who both suffered from cancer, the big challenge for her was the young children who had to navigate the situation, especially her daughter Layla (12), who saw Randall as a father figure.
Bullock, who announced back in 2022 a break from her career to dedicate herself to her family, opened a new Instagram account last April that has already garnered over 6 million followers. In an unusual move for someone who zealously guards her family's privacy, Bullock shared photos of her adopted children, Louis (16) and Layla (12). The two were adopted by her in her late 40s and grew up alongside the late Randall, who was her partner for eight years.
