A critical product recall has been issued for fresh Atlantic salmon fillets due to a severe labeling error regarding the product expiration date, according to local media reports.

The manufacturer, Zano Brothers Fish, acting in coordination with the Food Service at the Ministry of Health, announced an urgent recall of vacuum-packed fresh Atlantic salmon fillets. Consumers are strictly advised against consuming the product.

The recall was initiated following reports from vigilant customers. Subsequent inspections revealed a critical printing error on the product label regarding its shelf life: the expiration date was incorrectly printed as October 31, 2027, instead of October 31, 2026.

Health Risks and Product Details

This severe discrepancy means the product has actually expired and is no longer fit for human consumption, while the misleading label could have led buyers to believe the fish remained safe for another year. The company has begun withdrawing the merchandise from all retail points and distribution channels.

Authorities and the distributor urge anyone who has purchased the fish recently and stores it in their refrigerator or freezer to avoid consumption entirely to prevent food poisoning or health hazards.
