Israeli E-Commerce Strengthens as November Shopping Season Kicks Off
November's shopping season brings extensive discounts across Israeli e-commerce platforms, with Isracard data showing local sites capturing 74% of online turnover. Experts advise consumers to verify baseline prices, as tourism and electronics lead domestic retail growth.

As November's peak shopping season kicks off, Israeli e-commerce platforms are flooded with steep discounts ranging from 50% to 70%, alongside promotions like "buy for 350 NIS, pay 250 NIS." While retailers frequently promote aggressive price cuts, many fail to state pre-sale prices or specify applicable brands, often excluding market leaders. Social media feeds are concurrently saturated with promotional advertisements.
Navigating the Promotional Maze
E-commerce expert Nir Zigdon notes that a primary pitfall for consumers is focusing solely on the discount percentage rather than the actual product price. A 40% markdown on a price that was artificially inflated offers no better value than a standard 15% discount. Zigdon highlights that global platforms like Amazon feature tools such as Show Price History, which tracks real transaction data up to a year prior to verify genuine savings, a feature currently absent on Israeli shopping sites.
Consumer advocates recommend thorough preparation ahead of major events like Singles' Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. Beni Buchnik, founder of the consumer community "I Need It!," advises shoppers to map out specific targets in advance, noting that Singles' Day on November 11 is ideal for Chinese brands and gadgets. Approaching the shopping month without a structured list and budget risks impulsive buying and missed opportunities.
Tourism and Electronics Drive Domestic Growth
Data from Isracard indicates that local Israeli websites are strengthening their position against international competitors. In November 2022, local platforms accounted for 68% of online shopping turnover, a figure that climbed to 74% by November 2025. Conversely, Chinese platforms such as AliExpress, Shein, and Temu have experienced substantial growth, registering a 51% surge in purchasing turnover between November 2022 and November 2025.
Tourism emerges as the highest-volume sector during November, with Israeli platforms significantly outperforming both international sites and physical storefronts. Online spending on Israeli tourism sites skyrocketed by 193% between 2022 and 2025, while physical transactions in the sector dropped by 9%. Prominent hotel chains are offering selective promotions; Fattal Hotels features discounts of up to 30%, whereas networks like Isrotel limit their offers to specific properties in Tel Aviv and Herzliya.
The electronics sector also demonstrates robust domestic growth, with online turnover on Israeli sites expanding by 57% between November 2022 and November 2025, contrasted with a 5% decline in physical stores. International sites saw an even larger 66% growth in this category. Meanwhile, apparel and footwear display more modest gains, with local online turnover increasing by just 13% over the same three-year period.
Higher Spending on Local Platforms
Average transaction values on local Israeli websites are double those recorded on international platforms. Over the past three years, online turnover on local sites increased 1.8-fold, driven by a 37% rise in transaction volume and a 33% increase in average ticket size. Adar Goren, VP of Data, Digital, and Marketing at Isracard, observes that three years of conflict have accelerated shifts in consumer habits, prompting Israelis to favor local sites and spend more per transaction.
