Revolution in Carrefour branches in Israel: the new market the chain has entered
Good news for consumers: the supermarket chain is launching "Pharm Express" stands and offering 24 types of over-the-counter medications in 32 of its branches. Among the products: Advil, Acamol, Nurofen, and Fenistil.

The retail market in Israel has been undergoing a quiet revolution in recent years, as major retail chains have long since ceased to be satisfied with selling basic food and toiletry products. In their attempt to increase customer loyalty and become a "One Stop Shop," the chains are steadily entering new and diverse business areas.
Today, consumers find on the shelves of traditional supermarkets products and services they were not used to seeing there in the past - from electronics, clothing, and advanced household goods to financial services, camping equipment, and professional pharmaceutical products. This trend is intended to take advantage of the busy traffic in the branches and offer the busy consumer maximum convenience and time savings, while creating new growth engines for the chains.
As part of this trend, the Carrefour chain is offering for the first time over-the-counter medications at designated stands under the name "Pharm Express." In the first stage, the service is offered in 32 of the chain's branches, including the Schuster branch in Ramat Aviv Gimmel, Ibn Gabirol in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Hod HaSharon, and Beilinson in Petah Tikva, with plans for expansion to additional branches in the future. The chain places a prominent sign above the stands, clarifying that the purchase is permitted only from the age of 16 and that it is possible to purchase up to three units of the same type of medication.
The new service provides the advantage of convenience, allowing for the combination of purchasing daily medications during supermarket shopping. Among the 24 types of medications offered, one can find Advil Liquid Gel, Acamol To Go, Dexamol, Nurofen for children (orange or strawberry flavor), Strepsils, Tums, Fenistil Gel, Otrivin for adults and with menthol, Voltaren Emulgel, Bepanthen Plus Cream, Nadban, Lemosin, and more.
