Russian Drone Strikes Near Ukraine-Poland Border, Sparks Closures

A Russian drone struck the town of Yahodyn near the Ukraine-Poland border overnight, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Sunday. A Polish border guard spokeswoman told Reuters the strike occurred 800 meters from the Polish border, leading to the temporary closure of the border crossing. In a separate incident, Ukrainian Railways reported that a drone hit a passenger train locomotive in the Volyn region, just two kilometers from the border. No injuries were reported, though footage showed passengers fleeing in panic. "Russia continues its barbaric attacks near the Ukraine-Poland border," Sybiha wrote on X. "This is Putin's terror knocking directly on the doors of the EU and NATO."
