Rishon LeZion Deputy Mayor Questioned Again Amid Ongoing Investigation

Days after restrictions against him were lifted and he returned to his duties as deputy mayor of Rishon LeZion, the official was questioned once again by police as part of ongoing investigative procedures.

The interrogation took place last Wednesday at the Central District Fraud Unit, focusing on suspicions against him, including alleged threats, witness tampering, and suspicions of rape and indecent acts for which he was previously arrested.

Investigation Nearing Prosecutor Review

According to sources familiar with the investigation, the Fraud Unit is expected to transfer the case materials to the State Attorney's Office in the coming days, which will decide on how to proceed.

The emerging picture indicates that no significant new evidence was added during these supplementary investigations. As far as is known, the case still relies primarily on the complainant's version versus the suspect's denials.

Municipal Support for the Complainant

One of the suspicions examined in the additional questioning involved a confrontation between the deputy mayor and the complainant, an employee at the Rishon LeZion municipality. She alleges he threatened her during the confrontation, while he continues to deny all allegations, including the rape accusations.

"The municipality is accompanying the employee continuously and has even assisted her in receiving private treatments outside municipal services," municipal officials stated.

Meanwhile, the head of Human Resources at the Rishon LeZion municipality contacted the employee, clarifying that she is welcome to return to her position. The municipality pledged to restrict the deputy mayor's movements to prevent any contact between them, both professionally and geographically within the municipal building. Alternatively, she was offered a transfer to a different role matching her skills.
