The family of missing girl Haimnot Kasau met with Lahav 433 police officers, expressing deep frustration and demanding the case be transferred to the Shin Bet.
The search for the missing girl Haimnot Kasau continues, as her family recently met with senior officers from the Lahav 433 elite police unit to discuss the ongoing investigation into her disappearance. Over 900 days have passed since Haimnot was taken from an absorption center in Safed, yet law enforcement still lacks significant leads.
Family Frustration Over Investigation
During the meeting, the father, Tesfya Kasau, accompanied by legal representation, raised pointed questions regarding the handling of the case. The family expressed deep frustration over perceived shortcomings, poor communication, and what they described as the neglect of the investigation file since it was transferred to Lahav 433.
"For more than two and a half years, no one has approached me with a suspect's photo or asked questions about any individual, which is why I feel the investigation is not being conducted properly," Tesfya Kasau stated.
Demand for Shin Bet Involvement
Investigators confirmed they currently have no new information regarding the case. When asked about transferring the investigation to the Shin Bet, police officials noted that such a decision rests with police leadership. The family now plans to request an urgent meeting with Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir to advocate for the involvement of the Shin Bet, hoping alternative investigative methods will finally bring answers.
