In a statement published on social media platform X, Porat wrote:
"After 7 years at News 13, I have decided to end my work at the channel. I love this place deeply, especially the journalists who wake up every morning to make things better here. Professional Background
Porat, 38, holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Sapir College. He began his professional career at Yedioth Jerusalem and later covered the Jerusalem district as a police reporter for ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth. In September 2019, he joined Reshet 13 news, where he served as the West Bank and settlements correspondent before transitioning to cover the southern region.

Porat's resignation is not an isolated incident but part of a broader trend sweeping the channel recently. Over the past few days, several key figures have announced their departures, including foreign correspondent Yosef Israel, director Tali Sommer, senior editor Roi Barak, celebrity reporter Ron Finkelstein, and reporters' coordinator and spokesperson Tal Zarvib Manor.
This string of exits follows earlier turbulence in May, when veteran journalist Avishai Ben-Haim left the channel after 16 years to join Channel 14.
