Reshet 13 Chief Assaf Rappaport Meets Channel 12 Star Amit Segal in Bid to Recruit Him
Reshet 13 leader Assaf Rappaport recently met with Channel 12 political commentator Amit Segal in an effort to recruit him, though Segal is not expected to move. Meanwhile, the network appointed Itai Dankner as its new CEO.

Assaf Rappaport's push to lead Reshet 13 is shifting into high gear as the channel looks to strengthen its news division with prominent industry figures. Recently, a meeting took place between Rappaport and Amit Segal, the prominent political commentator for Channel 12 news. According to a report by TheMarker, the discreet meeting was part of an effort to recruit Segal to the rival network's news team.
Market estimates suggest that despite the high-profile meeting, Segal is not expected to leave Channel 12. Neither side has issued an official response to the report, leaving no indication of any immediate change in the political analyst's status or a planned transition to the competing news company.
This overture comes against the backdrop of sweeping changes at Reshet 13. The news company's board of directors approved the appointment of Itai Dankner as its new CEO. Dankner, who moves over from Keshet 12, will succeed Tali Ben Ovadia, who announced she would step down following the upcoming elections.
Dankner has served as vice president of programming at Keshet 12 since early 2019, where he shaped strategy, content, and scheduling. Previously, he spent six years as the editor of Channel 12's flagship Friday studio news program. He is now tasked with expanding digital operations, building a new studio, and driving growth as Yarden Bitran joins as content vice president.
