Refused cash withdrawal and took revenge on the branch: client stabbed bank employee in the face

An indictment was filed this morning, Tuesday, at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court against a 67-year-old Mizrahi bank client for stabbing a 45-year-old employee at the bank branch on Derech Shlomo in Jaffa last week. According to the indictment, the motive for the attack was the defendant's dissatisfaction with the service he received at the branch after he was refused a cash withdrawal.
The investigation reveals that the incident began hours before the stabbing. On August 26, at approximately 03:00, the defendant arrived at the branch and smeared quick-drying glue on the entrance door locks and the ATM slot before leaving the scene.
About seven hours later, around 10:00, the defendant returned to the branch armed with two knives and pepper spray. While inside, he pulled out one of the knives from his pocket and stabbed the bank employee in the face.
Arrested at the scene
The 45-year-old employee sustained a penetrating facial injury. MADA teams called to the branch provided medical treatment and evacuated her to Wolfson Hospital, where her condition was determined to be moderate.
Following a report to the 100 emergency center, police officers from the Jaffa station were dispatched to the scene. The officers located the 67-year-old while he was still inside the branch, arrested him, and seized the knife suspected of being used in the attack. Police stated that the motive for the stabbing was criminal.
The suspect was interrogated and remanded in custody, with his detention extended periodically. Following the completion of the investigation, the Tel Aviv District Prosecution filed an indictment this morning at the Magistrate's Court, along with a request to keep the defendant in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
The court granted the request, and his detention was extended until the end of the proceedings.
