Israeli Startup Reco Raises $50 Million to Secure Enterprise AI Agents
Israeli startup Reco secures an additional $50 million led by AT&T, bringing its total funding to $135 million. The company offers an AI agent security platform featuring real-time monitoring and an automated kill switch.

The integration of AI agents within corporate environments has disrupted traditional data security principles. While companies historically relied on restricted access policies where employees only saw necessary data, modern platforms like Salesforce or ServiceNow feature smart agents connected to all systems. Consequently, employees interacting with these agents gain access to all the data they touch.
To address this security challenge, the Israeli startup Reco has developed a platform that maps and manages AI agents and corporate applications. Initially focused on discovery and mapping, Reco has significantly upgraded its technology. Gal Nakash, co-founder and VP of Product at Reco, explained that the company has introduced three new layers to its product.
New Security Layers and Real-Time Runtime
The first layer involves automated agent discovery across platforms like Copilot Studio or Agentforce, complete with deep risk assessment for each agent. The second layer is a browser extension designed to screen and block prompts containing sensitive information before they are transmitted to external models.
The third layer, known as AI Runtime, operates in real-time. This engine monitors agent actions and detects malicious prompt injection attempts. Featuring an automatic Kill Switch, the system can instantly neutralize rogue agents:
Imagine an automated financial agent suddenly beginning to extract data outside its intended scope, or a user attempting to bypass permissions. Instead of merely alerting the security team after the fact, the system detects the anomaly and activates a Kill Switch to disconnect the agent immediately.
Nakash noted that at one client's site, the platform uncovered 42,000 agents, including some exposed to the internet or utilizing unauthorized models.
Funding and Growth
Reco announced the expansion of its second funding round with an additional $50 million led by American telecom giant AT&T, which transitioned from a client to a strategic investor, with participation from Forestay and Quadrille Capital. Founded by Ofer Klein, Dr. Tal Shapira, and Gal Nakash, the company has raised a total of $135 million to date.
