Real Madrid secured a dominant 4-1 victory over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the match was overshadowed by a massive refereeing controversy. Carlo Ancelotti's side delivered an impressive attacking performance ahead of El Clasico, yet the visitors were left furious over a first-half incident involving Arda Guler.

The Controversial Incident

With the score locked at 0-0 in the 25th minute, Guler was involved in an off-the-ball clash with Sevilla's Peque. Replays and fierce protests from the visiting bench claimed the Turkish midfielder struck his opponent with an elbow. Neither the match referee nor the VAR intervened, allowing play to continue before Guler later scored a spectacular goal.

Sevilla coach Luis Garcia Plaza did not hide his bitter frustration after the final whistle, questioning the integrity of the decision and pointing to the title race implications.

"I hope you all use the headline 'An elbow and that's it,' not just Sevilla's official website," Garcia Plaza stated. "It should have been 11 against 10 from the 25th minute. It completely changed the landscape of the match."

Mourinho Dismisses Claims

On the other side, Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho firmly rejected the accusations, claiming he reviewed the available footage and saw nothing actionable.

"No one has been able to show me what they claim happened," Mourinho remarked. "If someone brings me clear, objective images by Saturday of something I haven't seen, then I will talk about it."

Despite the noise, Real Madrid cruised to three vital points thanks to goals from Guler, Kylian Mbappe, and Yan Diomande, keeping them six points behind Barcelona ahead of a crucial week featuring a Champions League clash against Leipzig and El Clasico.
