Real Madrid Crushes RB Leipzig 4:1 as Diomande Shines in Champions League
Real Madrid defeated RB Leipzig 4:1 in the Champions League as Yan Diomande starred against his former club. Jose Mourinho and Kylian Mbappe defended Vinicius Junior after he faced jeers from the crowd.

Real Madrid delivered a masterclass in attacking football, cruising to a 4:1 victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
After a relatively balanced first half in which Bernardo Silva gave Madrid the lead, the hosts stepped up the tempo. Arda Guler, Kylian Mbappe, and Yan Diomande rounded off the victory, with Diomande's goal standing out as the highlight of the night.
Diomande Shines Against Former Club
Diomande, the club's marquee signing who could cost up to 140 million euros, came on in the 70th minute to replace Vinicius Junior. After failing to find the net in his first eight matches following his summer arrival from Leipzig, he has now scored in three of his last four games.
Against his former side, he latched onto a pass from Brahim Diaz and unleashed a stunning volley into the top corner. He also provided an assist for Mbappe.
"The fans went home happy," said Mourinho after the match.
Mourinho Defends Vinicius
Coach Jose Mourinho clarified that the substitution was not just to prepare Diomande for Sunday's El Clasico against Barcelona, where Vinicius will be suspended. Alongside the celebration, Vinicius found himself in the spotlight again after being booed by a section of the Bernabeu crowd. Mourinho defended the Brazilian winger, emphasizing his tactical contribution and urging the fans to support the team.
Mbappe also backed his teammate, stating that Vinicius possesses the quality needed to overcome this phase and regain his best form.
