Fragmentation Grenade Explodes at Residential Building in Ramat Gan
A fragmentation grenade exploded on the first floor of a residential building on Bialik Street in Ramat Gan, startling residents. Police are investigating the criminal incident.

Residents of a residential building on Bialik Street in Ramat Gan were jolted awake earlier this week by a massive explosion after a fragmentation grenade was thrown at the structure, detonating on the first floor. The incident occurred during the early morning hours, prompting police to investigate a suspected criminal connection linked to a local business owner living in the city.
Lee Dothan, a resident of the targeted building, recalled the terrifying ordeal in an interview. At around 5:30 in the morning, the entire building shook violently, leaving residents fearing a structural collapse or a missile strike. Authorities later indicated the background was likely criminal. Dothan noted that a neighbor living in the building works as a nail technician, far removed from any criminal activity, and expressed frustration over the lack of official communication from authorities.
"We received no updates from the police or the municipality," Dothan said. Responding to the shock, another tenant described rushing automatically to the shelter with her children as the building shook. Residents emphasized that Bialik Street is typically a quiet, uneventful neighborhood with a high concentration of elderly residents, making the violent escalation particularly jarring.
In response to the incident, the Israel Police stated that large forces, including sappers and forensic experts, arrived at the scene immediately following the report to conduct thorough searches and gather evidence. An active investigation is currently underway to track down the suspects.
Meanwhile, the Ramat Gan municipality issued a clarification stating that the municipal call center received numerous calls from anxious residents following the blast. Callers were reassured that there was no security threat and that the incident appeared to be criminal in nature. The municipality emphasized that investigating criminal acts falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Israel Police, adding that local authorities will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement as required.
