Israel Railways has launched a unique art exhibition across its railway stations, showcasing works created by children and adults with special needs from the "Perach Israel" network. The initiative brings together hundreds of thousands of daily commuters and art created through various methods, including traditional painting and advanced eye-tracking technology for individuals with severe motor limitations.

Art in the Public Space

Titled "Creation Station," the project is a collaborative effort between Israel Railways and the Perach Israel network, aiming to integrate the inner worlds of students and residents from special education, rehabilitation, and housing facilities into the bustling public sphere. The exhibited pieces were created by participants of all ages from across the country, including residents of Kfar Perach, day center graduates from Yakir, students from the Gvulot Mental Health School in Rosh HaAyin, as well as educational institutions in Elad.

Technology Enabling Expression

A notable portion of the artwork was produced using eye-gaze tracking systems. This innovative technology tracks eye movements, allowing participants with significant physical disabilities to select colors, draw, and compose digital masterpieces using only their gaze. Organizers note that this transforms the eye into a powerful creative tool for those who otherwise cannot hold a brush.

Dedication to Security Forces

The entire exhibition is dedicated to Israel's security and rescue forces. Through vibrant colors, characters, and expressive imagery, the creators conveyed their personal gratitude and appreciation to soldiers, police officers, and emergency rescue personnel serving across the country.

Leadership Perspectives

Avner Flor, Chairman of the Board of Israel Railways, highlighted the unifying role of the railway system. "Railway stations connect people, communities, and places across Israel every day, and now they provide a platform for exceptional art. We are proud to host these works and allow the traveling public to discover the talent and stories behind them," Flor stated.

Rabbi Moshe Stein, CEO of the Perach Israel network, emphasized the profound personal significance of the display for the participants. "Behind every picture shown here is a child or adult with a whole world they wish to express. Seeing these works move from classrooms and day centers to the walls of train stations in front of thousands of commuters is a great privilege," Stein noted.
