A motorcycle convoy carrying flags of the Ra'am party sparked sharp public and political backlash, coinciding with the anniversary of the October 7 massacre. The convoy, featuring green flags with Arabic inscriptions, was part of the party's campaign activities in the southern region.

Police Intervention and Public Outrage

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir stated that the riders operated illegally and alarmed local residents. He remarked that the imagery momentarily evoked memories of the October 7 events on southern roads. Police forces from the Yoab unit intercepted the convoy, issuing fines and detaining violators.

"The riders traveled illegally, startling residents of the Negev, and for a moment the images recalled the sights of October 7 on southern roads," stated National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

Right-wing activist Yigal Malka shared footage on social media, noting that drivers initially feared the convoy consisted of terrorists. It was later clarified that the flags belonged to Ra'am, though controversy persisted over the use of delivery bags associated with the Wolt company.

Company Response and Political Reactions

Representatives for Wolt clarified that the company has no connection to the political event. An initial review of the delivery bags shown in the video indicated they had previously been reported stolen, distancing the delivery platform from the incident.

  • Public criticism targeted Ra'am leader Mansour Abbas over past statements.

  • Law enforcement emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for traffic violations during political demonstrations.

  • Authorities confirmed that several motorcycles were impounded following the operation near the Ohalim junction.
