MK Chili Tropper Shocked by Students Believing in October 7 Treason

MK Chili Tropper visited a pre-military preparatory academy today and recounted a disturbing encounter with students who believe that the October 7 massacre involved internal treason.

During a discussion at the academy, which integrates ultra-Orthodox and secular youth, a trainee asked Tropper if there had been internal treason on October 7. Tropper responded with strong disbelief, asking if anyone seriously believed that IDF soldiers wanted female spotters, Nova festivalgoers, or children in Nir Oz to be killed. To his shock, at least seven students raised their hands, with one arguing that someone inside must have assisted Hamas.

Tropper firmly rejected the conspiracy theory, emphasizing the decades of dedication shown by military commanders and warning that distrust in the military command destroys the state from within. He acknowledged the severe intelligence and operational failure of October 7 while stressing that there was no malicious betrayal.
