"Someone wants to hurt me": Criminal defense attorney filed a second police complaint in two weeks
The first complaint was filed after a client of the attorney sent a stranger to threaten her, demanding she waive a debt. About two weeks later, she found a cut on her car tire, which led her to file another complaint. "After what happened to the attorney in Rishon LeZion, it is impossible to ignore the fear," the attorney stated.
A criminal defense attorney from Tel Aviv filed a complaint with the police yesterday (Sunday) after finding a cut on one of her car tires on Sunday morning, which she says appears to be intentional sabotage. Only about two weeks ago, the attorney turned to the police following threats she claims to have received against the backdrop of a 3,000 shekel debt.
The attorney told Walla that last Thursday she parked her car under her home in Tel Aviv and did not drive it throughout the weekend. When she returned to the car on Sunday morning, she noticed that one of the tires had been cut. She claims she believes this is not accidental damage but intentional sabotage, which may have been carried out using a knife.
The first incident, following which the attorney filed her first police complaint, occurred on August 5. According to the attorney, a stranger threatened her, demanding she waive a debt of a client who had hired her services. Following the incident, she filed a complaint on suspicion of threats. In the correspondence she presented to Walla, it was written:
"I am telling you! I will not let this go, it is a threat and it will not pass quietly."
The person sent by the client replied: "I am not threatening."
Following the discovery of the cut on the tire, she filed another complaint with the police, this time on suspicion of malicious damage to a vehicle. According to her, the first thought that crossed her mind was the murder of attorney Arbel Feldman in Rishon LeZion.
"Immediately, the murder of the attorney in Rishon LeZion crossed my mind. I said to myself: I hope this isn't someone taking revenge on me and warning me now. It was clear to me that it could be related to my work as a criminal defense attorney. Apparently, I angered someone," she added.
At this stage, she has no information linking the two incidents, but according to her, the proximity in time raises her concerns.
"I wonder if it is related, if it is a warning. I am trying to understand who is behind this. I am afraid that someone wants to hurt me," the attorney said.
Since the discovery of the cut, she has been re-examining cases she handled and people she was in contact with as part of her work, to understand if any of them might be related to the case.
"I don't know if there is a connection between the things, but after the threat at the beginning of the month and after what happened to the attorney in Rishon LeZion, it is impossible to ignore the fear," she said.
Due to her fear, the attorney requested not to publish her name or other details that might lead to her identification. The police stated that an investigation has been opened.
