First publication | Wife of crime syndicate boss arrested with him released from custody

The wife of the arrested crime syndicate boss, Eyal Nagar, was released on Monday from custody by the Ashkelon Magistrate's Court under restrictive conditions. She was arrested about two weeks ago along with her husband and other operatives. The suspicion against her concerns financial crimes, with the police requesting a stay of execution on the decision for her release.

Nagar's wife was arrested in a major case where dozens of criminals were detained on suspicion of racketeering, taking over food delivery services in the city of Ashdod, and extorting local restaurants.

In the court's decision to release her, it was determined:

"Her children are currently without a father and mother figure in circumstances where her involvement is 'limited' to the financial crimes. The time has come to order her release."

The police requested a stay of execution on the release decision to decide whether they intend to file an appeal to the District Court.

Yesterday, the detention of her husband, Eyal Nagar, was extended once again. A source close to Nagar reported that he "is not speaking during interrogations, maintaining his right to silence."

The source added that Nagar "does not trust the police":

"According to Nagar, he has been harassed for years. He is confident in his innocence. This is not the first time he has been arrested; he has no connection to this matter. He is confident that this time, too, the case will be closed."

Police sources claim the investigation is ongoing and that they have evidence linking the crime syndicate boss to his and his associates' takeover of restaurant deliveries and the extortion of restaurants in Ashdod.
