Police Shoot and Kill Armed Suspect During Operational Activity in Yafa
Northern District police shot and killed an armed suspect who opened fire at a building in Yafa. The background to the criminal incident is under investigation.
Northern District police officers shot an armed suspect overnight Thursday after witnessing him fire a long-barrel weapon at a building in Yafa. The suspect was critically injured, evacuated to the English Hospital in Nazareth, where his death was pronounced. According to police, the background to the incident is criminal.
Officers identified the armed man during operational deployment activities in the area. Police stated that the officers engaged the suspect and opened fire.
According to Magen David Adom (MDA), the report regarding the wounded individual was received at the emergency dispatch at 23:53. Medics and paramedics found a man in his thirties suffering from penetrating trauma, pulseless and non-breathing, and evacuated him to the hospital while performing resuscitation efforts.
Emergency medical technicians Ibrahim Abu Lil and Muhammad Grar recounted that upon arrival, they were led to the man lying on the ground amid heavy commotion, suffering from a penetrating injury without a pulse or breathing.
