Family of Missing Haymanot Kasa Sets Up Jerusalem Sukkah Protest
The family of missing girl Haymanot Kasa erected a protest sukkah in Jerusalem, demanding that the Shin Bet take over the investigation after 942 days without answers.
More than 940 days have passed since the disappearance of Haymanot Kasa, who was last seen at an absorption center in Safed at the age of nine. On Wednesday, her family arrived in Jerusalem and erected a protest sukkah near the government complex in an effort to keep the case in the public eye throughout the holiday.
The Struggle for Answers
The family decided to set up the sukkah in Jerusalem instead of their traditional holiday setup to raise public awareness and seek assistance. Tesfia Kasa, Haymanot's father, stated that the family intends to remain at the site until the Shin Bet takes formal responsibility for the investigation.
We want the public to hear, get to know, assist, and come to pray and spend the holiday with us, said the father.
Public Support and Solidarity
The sukkah was established at Shimon Agranat Square, near the Cinema City complex, the Supreme Court, and the protest tent of the Gvurah Forum. In recent months, former hostages and their relatives have joined the family's appeals, including Shelly Shem Tov, the mother of released hostage Omer Shem Tov.
