A female police officer from the Southern District is currently under investigation on suspicion of leaking classified information from police databases to unauthorized individuals and criminal elements. The investigation was opened by the Police Internal Investigations Department (PIID) last month following suspicions that she extracted police data for a resident of the Negev Bedouin diaspora.

During the course of the investigation, additional evidence was gathered, raising suspicions that this was not a one-time incident. The officer is being investigated, among other things, for fraud, breach of trust, and obstruction of justice.

Police issued a response stating that the case is being handled by the Police Internal Investigations Department, and therefore they are restricted from commenting on its details or related proceedings. Attorney Abu Jame Oudeh, representing the officer, stated: "My client appeared for questioning at the PIID, fully cooperated, and completely denied the suspicions attributed to him. No objective evidence supporting the suspicions was presented during the interrogation. My client maintains her innocence and reserves her rights."
