Israel Police Proposes 'Brigade C' to Tackle Area C Friction and Violence
Judea and Samaria Police District commander Moshe Pinchi has proposed establishing "Brigade C," a joint 700-800 strong force to tackle friction and nationalist crime in Area C.

The commander of the Judea and Samaria Police District, Commander Moshe Pinchi, has formulated an operational plan to establish "Brigade C," a joint inter-agency force designed to address friction, violence, and nationalist crime in Area C.
The Operational Concept and Structure
The proposed plan aims to bridge the inter-agency gaps between the police, the IDF, and the Shin Bet, addressing the current inability of limited forces to fully respond to rising incidents. The newly proposed brigade would comprise 700 to 708 police officers and combatants deployed from the southern Hebron Hills to the northern Samaria region.
"The plan was formulated in consultation with all relevant parties, aiming to provide an effective, inter-agency national solution," the police stated.
Division of Responsibilities
The force would focus strictly on open-area friction rather than criminal offenses inside Jewish communities. This division allows regional IDF brigade commanders to concentrate entirely on counter-terrorism, while Brigade C manages friction events, ensuring rapid response through continuous territorial presence.
Budgetary Debates and Next Steps
The plan, which awaits approval from the police commissioner and the minister, has sparked budgetary discussions. Police officials demand that the military fund the unit, whereas the army argues that the initiative requires direct state funding.
