Police arrested a 22-year-old Jaffa resident on Wednesday night on suspicion of involvement in a deadly shooting that took place in the city on Sunday. During a search of his residential area, a loaded pistol was seized. The suspect is scheduled to appear at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Thursday for a hearing regarding the extension of his detention.

Investigators from the Tel Aviv District Central Unit identified the suspect through investigative efforts. Following his arrest, officers conducted searches near his home and recovered a Sig Sauer pistol, a magazine, and ammunition. Police attribute direct involvement in the violent incident to the suspect.

The shooting took place early Sunday morning on Leib ben Sara Street in Jaffa. The investigation indicates that the suspect arrived on an electric motorcycle, waited for two victims sitting in a parked vehicle, shot them at close range, and fled the scene.

As a result of the attack, a man in his 30s sustained fatal injuries and died shortly after arriving at Wolfson Hospital. Another man in his 20s was found on nearby Rabbi mi-Lilov Street with serious wounds. A third individual who was in the targeted vehicle was arrested near the scene shortly after the incident. MADA teams reported that the victim was found unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, and suffering from severe trauma.

This incident follows another recent act of violence in the city. Last Friday, three young men were arrested for the murder of Ahmad Shakara on Jerusalem Boulevard in Jaffa. In that case, Shakara was riding an electric bicycle when an SUV pulled up, and an armed assailant exited the vehicle and opened fire. During the raid on the suspects' location, detectives recovered a loaded Glock pistol and a jeep allegedly used to carry out the murder and facilitate the escape.
