"Small CEO": Beitar Jerusalem responds sharply to accusations from Maccabi Haifa

Beitar Jerusalem's victory in the President's Award for community activity has sparked a direct confrontation between the clubs. According to reports, the selection process was accompanied by an especially tight race between the yellow-and-blacks and Maccabi Haifa, with the greens even leading at times. However, after a decision was made to hold a re-vote, at the end of which Beitar was declared the winner, a major storm erupted following claims of irregular conduct by the Maccabi Haifa management.

Beitar Jerusalem chose not to let the events pass in silence and released an official and particularly sharp statement, directed directly against Maccabi Haifa CEO Itzik Ovadia:

"Unfortunately, it turned out that Maccabi Haifa CEO Itzik Ovadia had difficulty accepting the committee's results and even sent unusual and harsh messages to the committee members. We are surprised that in such a big club there is such a small CEO who tries to intimidate over a special community award that deals with contribution to the community."

Alongside the attempt to calm the spirits and compliment the field staff of Haifa and the other teams, Beitar clarified: "The award is exactly where it deserves to be, and we also share tremendous respect for the community activity of the field staff of Maccabi Haifa and the other league teams." In the Carmel, they have yet to officially respond to the harsh accusations leveled against the club's CEO.
