Netivei Israel has announced that from Sunday, August 9, 2026, until Thursday, August 13, 2026, between 21:00 and 05:00, work will be carried out to lay the final layer of asphalt on Highway 40, specifically on the section between Ganim Junction and Vatikim Junction.

Due to these operations, new traffic arrangements will be in effect on the main road and adjacent routes. Temporary changes will be implemented along Highway 40, including the closure of certain turns and passages at the Ganim, Yavne, Vatikim, and Gordon junctions.

Drivers are advised to follow the signage placed at the site, obey the instructions of traffic controllers, and use alternative routes as needed.

Additionally, as part of paving work in Yesharim Alley, entry from Yavne Alley to Yesharim Alley will be closed from Tuesday through Thursday, day and night, until the work is completed.

"It is recommended to prepare in advance and use alternative access routes," stated Netivei Israel.

"We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and thank you for your patience and cooperation. Netivei Israel wishes you a pleasant trip," they added.

As a reminder, the Begin Highway in Jerusalem heading south was opened to traffic this morning, five hours ahead of schedule, following the successful installation of three additional steel bridges along the route.
