Traffic Disruption in Jerusalem: Major Artery to Close for a Month
One of the busiest thoroughfares in Jerusalem is set to close for 30 days due to infrastructure works. Drivers are advised to follow the instructions of traffic controllers and use navigation apps.
Jerusalem residents, please take note: Ben Maimon Boulevard will be closed to vehicle traffic in one direction for a full month due to ongoing infrastructure works. The closure will be in effect daily from 07:00 to 19:00 on the segment between Ibn Ezra Street and Arlozorov Street. Traffic in the opposite direction will continue to operate as usual.
During working hours, drivers are advised to use alternative routes, as traffic will be diverted via Ibn Ezra, Ramban, and Arlozorov streets. Additionally, parking areas along the closed segments will be temporarily suspended, and drivers are encouraged to seek parking in nearby neighborhoods.
Inspectors will be stationed on-site to direct traffic and maintain order. Pedestrians will be able to pass safely throughout the duration of the works using designated paths.
As a reminder, starting today, Tuesday, August 18 (5th of Elul), new and extensive traffic arrangements have come into effect in the area of Gan HaPaamon and Derech Beit Lehem Street. As part of the infrastructure development, the street will be blocked in both directions between the David Remez junction (near the gas station) and the Emek Refaim junction. This closure is expected to last approximately two years.
