Or Shpitz in deep mourning: 'We only got to know each other for a year, watch over us from above'
The queen of sweets, who stood under the chuppah about a week ago with her new husband Omri Mastavoym, shared that one of the guests of honor of the event passed away today after a battle with a severe illness.
Only a week has passed since the queen of sweets, Or Shpitz, walked to the chuppah together with the choice of her heart, Omri Mastavoym. The huge event, which was undoubtedly one of the most talked-about weddings of the year, took place at the prestigious LAGO events and conference complex in Rishon LeZion, in front of about 800 excited guests that included family members, friends, and colleagues from the industry.
This morning (Tuesday), she shared that the grandfather of her new husband, Omri, passed away.
"Omri's grandfather passed away and our hearts are aching, — she began the post on her Instagram page. — It is important to me that you know what kind of person he was because, after all, he is one of the reasons I fell in love with Omri."
"How many men tell you so much about their grandfather on a first date? (And you know how attached I was to my grandfather Baruch and how that charmed me)," she recalled. "I managed to enjoy Reuven for only a year, but I was privileged to know a sharp, charismatic, intelligent, and maximally creative person who was an integral part of shaping the values of the man I chose to marry," she eulogized him.
She continued and described how difficult the parting is: "I have no words to tell you what grandfather Reuven was to Omri, such a special person who until his last moment helped me plan the wedding cake, and unfortunately on the wedding day he could not come to taste it."
She shared that despite his difficult struggle in the recent period with an illness, she still hoped that he would be able to celebrate the exciting event with them. "The last month and a half was a whole journey of emotions, from excitement and anticipation that we would celebrate together, to the discovery of the cursed illness in Reuven, and we began a race against time that ultimately ended in this outcome."
In conclusion, she wrote: "Reuven, watch over us from above, and I hope you meet my grandfather Baruch; I know for sure that you will get along great."
