To the horror of the investigators, more than 50 bodies were found on the premises in various stages of decomposition. Following the findings, the state rushed to suspend the license of the manager, Joanna Morgan, and determined that the continuation of operations there constitutes a real danger to the public. Neighbors living near the funeral home said that for a long time they have been suffering from sharp and unbearable smells emanating from the building. Some of them noted that the smell was so strong that it accompanied them daily for entire months.
It also turns out that the owners of the place have a problematic history: the husband of the manager previously ran a similar cremation business that was closed last year after it was exposed that even there, bodies were handled in a negligent and illegal manner inside trailers without cooling. Representatives of the funeral home have not yet provided a response to the events.
