Memorial site transformation

The Nova festival site has undergone a profound transformation, evolving into a quiet, living memorial garden. Over the past three years, benches, tables, and memorial signs have been established across the grounds near Kibbutz Reim, commemorating the victims of the October 7 massacre.

Each memorial post bears the stories of those who lost their lives. Among them is Libi Cohen Maguri, who was 22 years old when she was murdered while attempting to flee along Route 232. President Isaac Herzog and other public figures recently attended memorial ceremonies at the site, addressing grieving families and visitors.

Remembrance and ceremonies

During the commemorative gatherings, families walked among the groves of eucalyptus trees, reading the inscriptions and sharing memories. Memorial screens displayed portraits of the victims, while national leaders emphasized the enduring significance of remembering those who perished.

"We stand together with you in a place where friendship and love, light and darkness, give us strength," President Isaac Herzog stated during the ceremony.

Preserving the legacy

KKL-JNF officials reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the autonomy of the families in maintaining the memorial site. As darkness fell over the area, small lights illuminated the memorial posts, serving as a solemn reminder of the lives lost during the Operation Iron Swords conflict.
