In the first recording, from the night of July 14, two defendants in their twenties from Lod and Modiin are seen arriving at a luxury tower in Rishon LeZion, where, according to police assessments, a person associated with the Musli crime organization resides.
One suspect waits in the vehicle, while the second approaches the building and attempts to open the door for two minutes. Failing to do so, he steps back and throws a fragmentation grenade toward the building. At that exact moment, a resident exits the elevator with her dog; the shrapnel passes just centimeters away from her, saving her life by a miracle.
Seven days later, the suspects travel to a gas station in Lod, fill a bottle with gasoline, and drive to Netanya. One of the defendants rides a scooter to Shimon Bracha Street, pours gasoline on a luxury SUV, and sets it on fire. The vehicle was completely destroyed, and nearby vehicles were also damaged.
Two days later, the suspects targeted a residential building in Ramat Gan, where they threw a stun grenade before fleeing.
Unbeknownst to them, detectives from the YAMAR unit of the Shfela region had already been tracking them. Moments after the attack in Ramat Gan, the suspects were caught red-handed at a gas station near the city entrance. The precision of the arrest reflects the extensive police preparation in the hours leading up to the incident.
Following an intensive investigation by the YAMAR Shfela unit and the Rishon LeZion police station, serious indictments have been filed against the suspects today.
In a separate incident, two 18-year-olds from Rehovot set fire to a 'Japanika' branch in Givatayim; a prosecutor's statement has been filed against them ahead of formal indictments.
These cases contribute to a series of successful resolutions over the past year: the number of indictments for robbery has risen by 32%, arson by 64%, and business break-ins by 14%. While these data points are encouraging, the police continue their nationwide efforts to combat crime organizations and illegal weapons to ensure citizen security.
