New lead in the disappearance of Eldar Dayan: Helmets discovered
Police have found two helmets believed to belong to missing person Eldar Dayan and his friends. The items have been sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis.
A significant development has emerged in the investigation into the disappearance of Eldar Dayan: police have discovered two helmets that match those worn by Dayan and his friends shortly before he went missing. The items were found at the location where he was last seen.
Detectives from the Southern District Police conducted a search operation in the Yarkon River area near Petah Tikva, utilizing drones and advanced technological equipment. Both helmets have been transferred to a forensic laboratory in hopes of uncovering critical evidence. Family members, including Dayan's mother, have also joined the search efforts.
It was previously revealed that police received information regarding death threats made by Dayan's friends, who were with him in the moments leading up to his disappearance. Central District investigators suspect that these individuals may know his whereabouts and have even attempted to locate his hiding place.
The investigation is centered on the suspicion that the group was involved in a brawl, after which they struck one of the participants with a vehicle and fled the scene. Police believe this incident is the primary reason for Dayan's flight, though they do not rule out the possibility that he was injured during the altercation.
During interrogations, a confrontation occurred between the primary suspect and police investigators, who accused him and his associate of abandoning Dayan after fleeing a gas station. Lawyers for the suspects have categorically denied these allegations.
Attorney Sapir Pardo, representing the Dayan family, stated:
"Eldar is not wanted for questioning. The family does not know if he is alive or not. We have received information that the main suspect threatened Eldar's life and intended to harm him just before he disappeared."
Last week, footage from a gas station was released showing the 23-year-old missing man alongside two individuals arrested in connection with the case, just minutes after they abandoned their vehicle. The video shows Dayan, shirtless, taking two shirts, putting one on, and handing the other to a friend. Additionally, a shirt potentially belonging to Dayan was found in Petah Tikva, near the site where the vehicle he was likely traveling in was discovered.
