News 13 Seeks to Annul Settlement with Former Anchor Netali Shem Tov

Netali Shem Tov, a member of the 'Amcha Yisrael' party and former News 13 anchor, reached a settlement agreement on Monday morning in her lawsuit against News 13. The lawsuit alleged breach of contract, workplace harassment based on worldview, forced agendas, and unlawful termination.

Under the terms of the settlement, News 13 will pay financial compensation to Netali Shem Tov. The parties also agreed that the exact compensation amount would remain strictly confidential under a legal non-disclosure agreement.

However, News 13 strongly rejected the public framing of the settlement, calling it false and claiming that Shem Tov agreed to settle because her lawsuit would not hold up in court. Consequently, News 13 has filed a request to cancel the settlement agreement.

News 13 released an official statement regarding the dispute:

"Contrary to the false publication, the court made it clear to Netali Shem Tov that there was no basis for her claims and recommended that she settle for only a fraction of her employment contract value. We emphasize that it was Netali who requested to keep the agreement confidential because, after attempting to make political capital out of her dismissal, nothing was left of her lawsuit."

The network further stated that the court rejected her 3.5 million NIS lawsuit, specifically dismissing her claims of harassment and discrimination based on political agenda, as well as her claims of unlawful termination, damage to reputation, mental anguish, and full contract payout. According to News 13, the approved settlement was for less than one-fifth of the original lawsuit amount. Due to what they termed a "false announcement" by the plaintiff, News 13 has petitioned the court to annul the settlement agreement.
