Netanyahu Skips Rabin Memorial as Supreme Court Head Attends State Event
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu skipped the state memorial ceremony for Yitzhak Rabin, with Supreme Court President Isaac Amit being the only state branch head to attend the event.

Political controversy erupted around the memorial ceremony for late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Knesset speaker skipped the state event at the President's Residence.
Of the three heads of state branches, only Supreme Court President Justice Isaac Amit attended the ceremony, while Netanyahu and the parliamentary leadership were notably absent.
The opposition block criticized the absence, noting it marks the fourth consecutive year Netanyahu has boycotted the event despite frequent coalition calls for national unity. A senior opposition official blasted the move as hypocrisy, stating that the government will soon be replaced.
The ceremony took place less than a week before the Knesset elections, amid a heated political campaign where Likud and opposition parties are locked in a tight race for leadership.
