Israeli Politicians Condemn Reported Netanyahu Deal With Controversial Rabbi
Israeli politicians sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following reports of a political deal offering a deputy minister role to Rabbi Chaim Yosef Abergel, who faces sexual offense allegations.

Israeli political figures have strongly condemned a reported political deal between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Rabbi Chaim Yosef Abergel, who is suspected of sexual offenses. According to reports, Education Minister Yoav Kisch met with the rabbi to negotiate his withdrawal from the upcoming electoral race in exchange for a deputy minister position and additional state funding.
Avigdor Lieberman, leader of Yisrael Beytenu, sharply criticized the timing and nature of the negotiations. Lieberman stated that while IDF soldiers were killed in a deadly terrorist attack, the government was busy offering political concessions to a suspect to secure electoral benefits.
Yoaz Hendel, leader of the reservists' party, echoed these concerns, accusing the administration of prioritizing political survival over national security. Efrat Reiten of The Democrats also condemned the reported agreement, calling the leadership corrupt.
The revelations have sparked intense backlash across the political spectrum, focusing attention on coalition dynamics and governance priorities as the country navigates ongoing security challenges.
