Father Charged in Nazareth Court Over Brutal Assault of Teenage Daughter
A 48-year-old resident of The North has been charged with the severe assault of his 15-year-old daughter for wearing a tank top, following a police investigation into years of alleged domestic abuse.
A 48-year-old resident of The North has been formally charged with the severe assault of his 15-year-old daughter because she was wearing a tank top. The indictment, filed at the Nazareth Magistrates Court, includes charges of aggravated assault by a caregiver causing actual bodily harm, aggravated assault, and malicious property damage.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred last month in a Jezreel Valley community after the father returned home and flew into a rage upon seeing the teenager. He threw household objects, smashed kitchen cabinet doors, and forcefully pursued her as she attempted to change her clothes and lock the bedroom door, breaking the handle in the process.
The prosecution detailed that the father kicked and pinched the girl as she struggled to defend herself, while her brother attempted unsuccessfully to intervene. When the victim tried to call the police, the father snatched and smashed her mobile phone. The siblings eventually reached the Afula police station to file a complaint for domestic violence.
Investigating officers reported that the teenager arrived in severe distress with visible injuries, later disclosing a history of ongoing abuse directed at her and her younger siblings by their father over the years.
