National Insurance Sets October 2026 Benefit Schedule and Heating Grant
The National Insurance Institute announced the October 2026 benefit schedule, setting long-term payments for October 28 and raising the annual winter heating grant to 664 NIS per household.
The National Insurance Institute has released the updated benefit payment schedule for October 2026, returning to regular fixed dates after a holiday-heavy September. The main disbursement for long-term benefits—including general disability, old-age, survivors, nursing care, and disabled child allowances—is set for Wednesday, October 28.
In 2026, the full general disability allowance for a single individual stands at 4,711 NIS, while the basic old-age allowance for a single recipient is 1,838 NIS, reaching up to 2,757 NIS including maximum seniority increments. Beneficiaries across these categories can expect funds to be deposited according to standard banking processing times.
Additionally, the National Insurance Institute is distributing the annual winter heating grant to eligible senior citizens this October. The grant amount for 2026 has been set at 664 NIS per household, marking an increase from 649 NIS paid the previous year. This annual payment is designed to assist eligible seniors with heating and electricity expenses ahead of the winter season.
The heating grant is disbursed automatically into the bank accounts of those who meet the criteria, requiring no special application. Eligibility is primarily granted to individuals of retirement age receiving an old-age pension, special old-age grant, or survivors' pension, provided they also receive an income supplement or a disability addition to their pension.
