Deserter Escapes Arrest in Modi'in After Clashes Between Protesters and Forces
Ultra-Orthodox protesters in Modi'in blocked the arrest of a military deserter overnight, forcing security forces to withdraw without him after violent clashes.

An ultra-Orthodox military deserter avoided arrest in Modi'in after hundreds of protesters clashed with security forces overnight. Military Police attempted to execute the arrest, but crowds mobilized quickly via alerts and stormed the building, forcing forces to withdraw without the suspect.
Following the failed operation, the deserter emerged onto the street where he was carried aloft on a vehicle roof by supporters celebrating. In a separate incident near Ramallah, settlers reportedly set fire to a house owned by a U.S. citizen in the village of Burka.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced an executive order aimed at lowering diesel prices ahead of midterm elections. The move comes amid public criticism over rising fuel costs linked to the ongoing regional conflicts.
