Argentine President Milei Receives Friend of Israel Award in New York
Argentine President Javier Milei arrived in New York to address the UN General Assembly and received the Friend of Israel Award during a visit to a local yeshiva.
Argentine President and staunch Israel supporter Javier Milei arrived in New York on Tuesday ahead of his address to the 81st United Nations General Assembly. During his three-day visit, Milei visited the Darchei Torah yeshiva in Far Rockaway for a central meeting with the Jewish community, just a day after Yom Kippur.
At the event, which highlights his close ties with the community since taking office, the president received the "Friend of Israel Award" in official recognition of his leadership and defense of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. During the gathering, Milei addressed the students and was filmed celebrating and dancing with them to the song "Am Yisrael Chai".
In addition to his scheduled UN speech, Milei's itinerary includes a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and a series of discussions with business leaders and academics before returning to Argentina.
