Monty Python Star Michael Palin Cancels UK Book Tour After Bad Fall
Monty Python star Michael Palin, 83, has canceled his UK book tour after breaking three ribs and his pelvis in a bathroom fall, expecting a long recovery.

Michael Palin, the 83-year-old Monty Python star, has canceled his upcoming book promotion events across the UK after a bathroom fall resulted in three broken ribs and a fractured pelvis. The beloved actor and comedian announced that his recovery will take several months, sharing the news with his signature wit.
"My accident was entirely undramatic—a slip in the family bathroom where I've been walking for 58 years," Palin wrote on Instagram. "I landed heavily on my left side, resulting in three broken ribs and a minor pelvic fracture. Healing from broken bones takes a long time, especially when you are 83."
Despite the painful injuries, Palin kept his characteristic humor, calling it a "comical fall with no audience." The new book, Michael Palin in the Philippines, documents his journey through the Philippines, capturing both its stunning landscapes and social disparities.
