Mergui Fires Back at Ex Noa Kirel With Teaser for New Unreleased Track
Mergui has responded to a recent scathing track by his ex Noa Kirel and Static by teasing his own new song on social media, taking direct aim at online obsession.
Israeli pop stars Noa Kirel and Static have recently sparked a wave of media attention with their joint track, featuring thinly veiled references to their high-profile ex-partners, Rona-Li Shimon and Mergui. In the song, Static describes his ex as appearing normal while her mind is troubled, while Kirel's former partner is portrayed as viewing her through a PR lens.
Following the release, Mergui responded in kind by sharing a teaser of an upcoming, unreleased track on Instagram and TikTok. The lyrics feature pointed jabs at social media obsession, with lines such as, "Oh no, another follower unfollowed her, she counts her views every day... her wedding didn't happen if it wasn't on Reels." He further sings about her relentless drive for attention, adding, "She doesn't care if she's almost out of breath, to be the hottest she will burn everything at any cost."
Sources close to Mergui note that while he is accustomed to public speculation regarding his past relationship with Kirel, he felt compelled to finally share his perspective through his art. According to insiders, the song was written long before Kirel and Static's collaboration, reflecting personal experiences he chose to channel into his music rather than interviews.
The track was co-written by Mergui alongside Elior Entwe (Boy Achy) and Ben Bar, with the music composed by Achy and Mergui. The single is slated for release next week, promising an even closer look at the unfolding musical exchange.
