Meir Ariel's Family Sells 80 Original Sketches by the Late Israeli Musician
The family of late Israeli singer Meir Ariel is selling 80 of his original sketches and illustrations for 1,000 shekels each, seeking a good home for the unique collection.

The family of the late Israeli singer and creator Meir Ariel is offering about 80 original sketches and illustrations drawn by him over the years for sale. His daughter, Shiraz Ariel, posted on social media on behalf of her mother, Tirtza Ariel, explaining that after much deliberation, the widow decided to sell the collection to find a good home for the artworks.
According to the details published, each sketch is offered for a fixed price of 1,000 shekels. The sale is conducted immediately, and the pickup of the pieces takes place from Pardes Hanna by prior appointment. Following the announcement, Shiraz Ariel expressed warmth at the overwhelming public interest in her late father's artistic creations.
The post featured sample sketches reflecting various periods and styles in Ariel's work, including a Tel Aviv-era drawing created with a black pen and markers on A4 paper, and character sketches on aging paper from his Mishmarot period. Another highlight is a series where Ariel incorporated coffee stains as an artistic element rather than a flaw.
Meir Ariel, one of the most prominent creators in Hebrew music, passed away in 1999 at the age of 57. Since his death, his family has actively worked to preserve his legacy through tribute events, publications, and the sale of items from his estate, alongside public dedications across Israel.
