A major controversy erupted in Spain surrounding Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior, and Ibrahima Konaté after the three Real Madrid players avoided fully displaying solidarity t-shirts supporting Ceuta before a match against Elche.
The Tunnel Incident
Players from both teams received white shirts in the tunnel bearing the message "Todos somos caballas" ("We are all Ceuta"), a campaign designed to show solidarity with the Spanish city following a migration crisis at the Moroccan border. However, video footage showed Mbappé, Vinicius, and Konaté rolling up or lifting the shirts so the text was obscured. Mbappé and Vinicius took them off completely before the pre-match handshakes.
