The popular social media personality and TV host, Maya Wertheimer, often shares her life on social networks. Recently, she and her husband, Asaf Zamir, revealed that they are expecting their third baby.
Every morning, Wertheimer tries to upload a picture of a siddur or a personal prayer book, which has led many followers to wonder about her connection to religion, given that she does not hide her secular lifestyle.
During a Q&A session on her Instagram account, she was asked about the role of faith in her life. "Do you believe in God?" one follower asked. Wertheimer did not hesitate to answer honestly:
"I believe with all my heart, and every day I pray for every woman who dreams of having children, that she may be privileged to raise them in health and happiness, amen."
Alongside this, she wrote: "I come from a very secular home of people who perform mitzvot and acts of kindness without a connection to laws whose origins I have no idea about." She clarified: "This is not a criticism; I really don't know the sources or how it all started. So I read, I learn, I am curious, and I find that there are endless beautiful and wise things in our religion, and every day I make an effort to be better."
