The Israel Airports Authority has accused Minister May Golan of a severe and blatant violation of security procedures at Ben Gurion International Airport. According to the authority, earlier this week Golan drove her vehicle into a restricted area of the airport ahead of her flight to the Czech Republic, using an exemption intended solely for ministers, and brought her mother, Rimona, inside without undergoing required security screening. The two were later filmed dining together in the El Al lounge until the minister boarded her flight.

The Airports Authority clarified that no official on their behalf authorized the deviation and that it constitutes an abuse of procedures. Concurrently, N12 learned that on her way to the airport, Golan spoke with a Likud central committee member serving in a managerial position at the authority. The official acknowledged the conversation but denied assisting her in bypassing security arrangements.

This is not the first controversy involving the two. In September 2025, the minister's mother was questioned by the Lahav 433 unit on suspicion of fraud at the "HaIr HaIvrit" association, where Golan previously served as CEO. While the minister dismissed the procedure as a "political investigation" and refused to appear for her own questioning under caution, it was alleged at the time that she was involved in "smuggling" her mother away from the investigation without authorization.
