Former Navy Commander: US Economic Pressure Could Topple Iran's Regime in Weeks
Former Navy Commander Eliezer Marom stated that US economic pressure and port blockades against Iran could trigger the collapse of the regime within weeks, shifting away from kinetic warfare.

Former Navy Commander, Maj. Gen. (res.) Eliezer Marom (Chiney), assessed on Thursday during an interview on 103fm that US economic pressure on Iran could lead to the regime's collapse within weeks. Asked if the duration of the war lies in the hands of US President Donald Trump, Marom rejected the notion that Iran dictates the rules of the game. According to him, Washington has shifted the nature of the campaign from direct military force to intensifying pressure on the Iranian economy.
The Americans have moved away from kinetic warfare and transitioned to economic warfare, imposing blockades on Iranian ports much like operations in Gaza. Marom added that the US is actively targeting oil exports by forcing shipments out of the Strait of Hormuz and establishing alternative routes, effectively suffocating the Iranian economy.
Economic damage could destabilize the regime in a short time frame, destroying the Iranian leadership with a high probability of collapse within weeks. Marom reinforced his assessment by citing statements from Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who recently admitted they cannot sustain the current pressure much longer.
Alongside the forecast of regime collapse, Marom raised the possibility that Iran might successfully achieve a nuclear test, questioning whether Israel and the US are prepared for such a scenario. If a nuclear test is discovered overnight, operational plans must be ready for both nations.
