MK Avi Maoz has called for an immediate disciplinary inquiry into Israeli media commentator Mohammad Majadle following social media footage showing him encouraging Arab citizens to vote by linking a change of government to improving prison conditions for security prisoners.

In an official letter addressed to Mordechai Mordechai, chairman of the Second Authority for Television and Radio, Maoz urged authorities to investigate whether the recorded statements constitute illegal political propaganda and whether they raise concerns regarding national security.

Maoz stressed that given the severity of the remarks, there is no room for delay or a generalized response, demanding a comprehensive review of the allegations and details on any subsequent actions taken by the regulatory body.

Meanwhile, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir announced that he is examining potential legal steps against the Israeli media commentator. Ben Gvir strongly condemned Majadle's actions, stating that it is unacceptable for a mainstream journalist to take an active role in elections while allegedly advocating for the betterment of imprisoned terrorists.
