Maccabi Netanya Owner Faces 9.5 Million Shekel Lawsuit Over Club Debts
Aliyah Capital has filed a 9.5 million shekel lawsuit against former Maccabi Netanya owner Eyal Segal over alleged breaches of debt-coverage agreements following a May 2025 club acquisition.
A major dispute has erupted at the Maccabi Netanya football club. According to an official statement released by the club, Aliyah Capital, owned by Ross Castin, has filed a 9.5 million shekel lawsuit against former owner Eyal Segal and his company Roundman Ltd. with the Israel Football Association arbitration institution.
According to the statement of claim, Aliyah Capital alleges that Segal breached his agreement to cover the club's debts and liabilities through the end of the 2024/25 season and failed to ensure the club would be debt-free by the end of 2025.
The acquisition rights were purchased under an agreement signed in May 2025, in which Aliyah Capital transferred 3.5 million dollars in exchange for the club being delivered debt-free. Segal personally guaranteed that Roundman Ltd. would settle all past debts by December 31, 2025.
The lawsuit asserts that despite demands sent in May and undisputed liabilities, Segal failed to settle the debts and acted in bad faith during negotiations, prompting the legal action after numerous failed attempts to resolve the matter.
