Logitech has announced the Yeti 2, the first successor to the iconic Blue Yeti microphone in 17 years, featuring an LED screen, AI noise suppression, and a $160 price tag.
Logitech has unveiled the Yeti 2, marking the first major update to the iconic USB microphone in 17 years. Originally launched by Blue in 2009, the Yeti revolutionized podcasting by eliminating the need for separate audio interfaces. Logitech, which acquired Blue in 2018 and retired the brand in 2023, has integrated the new microphone into its Logitech G lineup.
Design and New Features
The Yeti 2 retains the classic aesthetic of its predecessor while introducing several modern upgrades. It features a new 1.3-inch LED screen on the front, a redesigned multi-function dial, and a built-in proximity sensor. The condenser microphone continues to offer a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB connectivity at the base.
The new proximity sensor automatically adjusts microphone gain if you move during a recording or livestream, preventing audio distortion.
At the core of the device is the signature Blue Voice technology, now enhanced with AI-driven background noise suppression. Users can manage settings directly through the onboard screen, including gain levels, polar patterns for multi-speaker setups, equalizer adjustments, and a new animated Yeti avatar.
Pricing and Availability
The Yeti 2 records at 24-bit/48 kHz resolution and carries a price tag of $160, representing a modest $10 increase over the original model. This positions it competitively against popular USB and XLR offerings from brands like Shure and Rode.
